How will one know which nutrient ratio percentages to choose from for their desired goal?

Generally if you are trying to maintain or lose weight you should be choosing a ratio of 50% or less of carbohydrates. If you are an athlete then you will generally choose 55% or higher depending on your activity requirements. If weight loss is your goal you may also have to adjust your carbohydrate intake based on your activity levels as well as how effective you are losing the weight. Am I able to enter my own foods into the meal plan or certain types of foods?

Yes, you can type your own foods directly into the meal plans.  We do suggest that they fit within the guidelines of the serving sizes so that you can stick to your calorie needs and not accidently overeat.  Though if you like lemon pepper chicken you can put in the chicken serving for your protein source and then simply type "lemon pepper" next to it so that you know it is "lemon pepper chicken".  It is very friendly in regards to adding foods to your meal plans. 

How many meal plans can the software store?

You can enter as many users as you would like into your software. There is no limit to the number of meal plans you can create.

Does the software incorporate guidance on supplementation (i.e., protein shakes, vitamins, meal replacement shakes, etc.)?

The software is not designed to provide guidance on supplementation. It is designed to create effective and sound meal plans. This does not mean that supplementation can't be a part of your meal plan. It just means that the software does not tell someone what supplements they should be taking.

I have to tell you that this program is better than I first thought. Whatever it costs, it is worth it. I have been working with patients who are recently discharged from an eating disorder clinic--making a specific nutrition plan was time consuming before, but now with this, it's a cinch! How can I incorporate my recovery drink into the meal plans?

For those who consume post workout drinks (or pre- or
during-workout drinks for that matter), you can include these into
your meal plans by breaking it down into servings. For example, if
you have a post workout drink that contains 200 calories, 30 gms of
carbs, 15 gms of protein and 1gm of fat, it would break down to about
2 starch servings and 1 lean protein serving.
Look at the label of whatever drink you may be consuming and break
down the calories and nutrients into serving sizes and then subtract
those servings from your total allowance for the day.

The guidelines for servings to use are below:

1 Starch = 80kcal, 15gms carbs, 3gms protein, and 1gm fat
1 Vegetable = 25kcal, 5gms carbs, 2gms protein
1 Fruit = 60kcal, 15gms carbs
1 Dairy = 90-150kcal, 12gms carbs, 8 gms protein, and 1-5 gms fat (depending on type of dairy)
1 Protein = 35-100kcal, 7 gms protein and 1-5 gm fat (depending on type of protein)
1 Fat = 45kcal, 5gms fat

Since the software is downloadable from the internet (and once you have paid), what sort of assistance/guarantees will you provide if there is trouble during the download process or afterwards if ones computer crashes.


If you have problems with the download you can come to the customer support center to look for answers to your problems. If you can not find your answer then you may submit a ticket and someone will contact you regarding your issue.

We do suggest that once you download the software that you burn a copy of the files you downloaded onto a cd so that you have a hard copy in case you would need to re-load it onto your computer for some reason.

How easy is it to obtain my bodyfat? 

It is very easy to obtain your bodyfat.  There are many methods you can use.  We use the 3 step method, but you can use the 1 step method (which we explain in your body fat calculation manual) or you can even use the handheld scanners if you desire and just manually enter your bodyfat percentage. 

How long would it take me to create a meal plan?

On average it should only take you about 5-8 minutes to create a meal plan.  It is simply just plugging in foods that are matched in the serving size categories.

Can I use this on a MAC?

As of right now it is only for PC users.  If we get enough requests we will work on creating a Mac version.

The software creates the number of suggested servings for that specific calorie need. The food choices from each category is up to you. The food database does contain whole grain foods so if this is your focus then, yes you will be able to choose whole grain food sources to put into your meal plan. You are the one that decides which foods go into the meal plan. The software provides the suggested servings from each category and which foods and their sizes fit into each category.
